What is a Climatic Test?
A climatic test is nothing but a type of environmental stress testing in which the environmental or just climatic conditions are recreated in a controlled setting. Thus, during a climatic test, a product will be subjected to the climatic conditions that could be encountered by it during its lifetime. The primary objective of a climatic test is to ensure the compliance of the product with the regulatory standards. However, the purpose of a climatic test doesn’t end with this most of the times.
More often, the climatic testing will also be done to evaluate the reliability of the product and its expected durability. Thus, we would say that products that are being subjected to a climatic test will perform more reliably when compared to the products that are not tested. This way, the climatic tests are promising to make it easier for the manufacturers to bring new products to the open market sooner.

What are the types of Climatic Test?
You must understand that climatic testing as such is a broader category that covers a variety of simulations, as well as testing programs. The most popular climatic testing options available are as follows:
Temperature and Humidity Testing:
The temperature and humidity testing are done using a range of variety of test chambers. The chambers of different sizes are manufactured so as to accommodate the products of various sizes. At DOAHO, we have five standard temperature and humidity test chamber models. They are:
Thus, we are producing the test chambers with a broad range of working room volumes. The small size would accommodate 190 L, while the larger size would accommodate as high as 1500 L. Note that, our temperature and humidity test chambers can be used to perform static testing at a constant temperature and/or humidity level. Also, they can be used to do thermal cycling to determine how your products would react when it is exposed to rapid temperature shifts.
In general, the thermal cycling tests will be used to evaluate the reliability of solder joints. On the other hand, the static testing will be often used to evaluate the high and low ground survival temperatures during the equipment testing.
Salt and Spray Testing:
This, which is otherwise called as corrosive testing, is generally used to evaluate the ability of the protective coatings and the electronic components to sustain the corrosive environments. For these types of testing, we are manufacturing salt spray test machine. In this chamber, you will find a sealed chamber within which a product and/or component will be exposed to an atomized sodium chloride solution. One of the most common climatic tests that are being performed by our clients with this salt spray test machine will be to subject the test product to a 5% salt solution continuously for 720 hours. Thus, this test will determine the product’s compliance with ISO 9227:2012 standard. However, please note that this is only an example of the application of this climatic test chamber. There are lots to be tried and achieved with these chambers.
Sand and Dust Testing:
The sand and dust testing is very critical for the electronics goods that are to be used in the military ground vehicles. This type of testing is also important for the goods that are to be used in a more delicate environment. For this testing to be performed, you would need a sand and dust test chamber. With the range of sand and dust test chambers from us, you will be able to test components that can accommodate a space of up to 48,000 L.
